Brief introduction about yourself
I am a project officer and head of communications at the Housing Initiative for Eastern Europe (IWO e. V.). My work focusses on the energy refurbishment of residential buildings and the support of non-state actors in the housing sector in the EU Member States and Ukraine.
Which company/institution do you represent and what drives you in the company?
I work for the Housing Initiative for Eastern Europe (IWO e.V.), which is committed to the energy-efficient refurbishment of apartment buildings and reform processes in the housing sector in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. I think it’s very important that the key players in the building sector wake up and ‘get into action’. But also, and above all, owners of residential buildings must recognise and understand their responsibility. That’s why it’s important for us at IWO that all stakeholders communicate with each other.
Why is the project important from your point of view?
In our work at IWO, we often see that Germany is considered a pioneer in many areas. That’s why projects like GREEN Home are important lighthouse projects that can have impact far abroad and that can motivate other countries.
What is your role at GREEN Home?
With the support of the IWO networks, I am responsible for compiling ‘good examples’ and experience reports from national and international projects. I see the dissemination of results and good approaches from the project as an important task.
In one sentence: your motivation for working at GREEN Home
A lot can be learnt in other countries, especially in Eastern Europe, from a well-executed project in Germany with good results. My motivation is to create this transfer of knowledge.
