Nicholas Stancioff
Brief introduction about yourself
I am an entrepreneur with finance and systems background. I have been committed to Energy Efficiency since the 90’s. Currently I am the executive director of Funding for Future. Father of three young women. Born in New York, live in Latvia, consider myself European.
Which company/institution do you represent and what drives you in the company?
In 2012 I created an NGO -Ekubirojs focussing solely on deep renovation of multi-family buildings as I saw the intersection of the need to decrease CO2 and the growing housing crisis in Europe. In 2014, Some knowledgable partners and I started a fund to align the interests of stakeholders in delivering deep renovations of multi-family buildings.
Both are linked to my commitment to do what I can toward reducing climate change
What is your relation to the topic of climate protection?
See 2. I’ve educated myself in both Climate Science and Anthropology to understand the issues and the barriers to renovation. I try to understand the resistance to committing today to concrete changes to protect our climate/planet.
Why is the project important from your point of view?
Simple: Germany has many buildings, Germany has rule of law. Where Germany goes, Europe will go -eventually 🙂
What is your role at GREEN Home?
To advise on financial matters, contractual concepts. Share my experience, mistakes.
In one sentence: your motivation for working at GREEN Home
See Germany renovate as many multi-family buildings as possible providing very long term Safety, Health and Comfort to the residents.
