Elisa Krammer
Brief introduction about yourself
During my master’s degree in environmental economics at the University of Potsdam, I already worked intensively on renovation options in buildings. Since 2021, I am working as a junior projectmanager at DENEFF EDL_HUB and DENEFF. Besides my work for the project GREEN HOME, I am working on methods to incorporate energy efficiency into the property sector within the financial forum for energy efficiency as well as working on regulatory affairs for energy service providers within DENEFF EDL_HUB.
Which company/institution do you represent and what drives you in the company?
As a junior project manager at DENEFF EDL_HUB and at DENEFF it is my main goal to further the decarbonization of the buildings sector. Since I have studied economics, I look at this challenge from an economic perspective. I am motivated to overcome challenges for the goal of climate protection and to find innovative solutions from financing to implementation.
What is your relation to the topic of climate protection?
For my generation, the issue of climate protection is nothing less than a question of survival. A healthy planet is a prerequisite for a good life on it. As the time window for determined action is getting smaller and smaller, I now want to contribute to facilitating more climate protection.
Why is the project important from your point of view?
Almost two million residential buildings in Germany are organized as homeowner associations and these buildings have a refurbishment rate well below the national average. This is fatal – but also shows big potential for the reduction of carbon emissions. Since the buildings sector is failing its climate targets at the moment, we must now also use the potential in homeowner associations. I believe that by developing innovative instruments of financing, the project can make an important contribution!
What is your role at GREEN Home?
As a junior project manager at DENEFF, I am working operatively on the project by initiating and establishing stakeholder dialogues and helping the project to publicity among experts and caretakers. That is how I contribute to developing instruments of financing for homeowner associations.
In one sentence: your motivation for working at GREEN Home
We already have the technical solutions and the competence for implementation – if we can now succeed in bringing together the interests of providers and homeowner associations with their caretakers, we can drastically accelerate the decarbonisation.
